Real estate development is about talent, not gender

International Women’s Day: Vivenda Proves That Real Estate Development is About Talent, Not Gender

Women have a place in every industry—including real estate development.

The era when certain sectors were exclusively male is long gone. Yet, real estate development is still widely perceived as a male-dominated field. This perception is rapidly evolving, and at Vivenda, we are proud to be part of this transformation.

Far from clichés, this is not about “integrating” women but rather recognizing their expertise, leadership, and essential contribution to the industry’s evolution.

At Vivenda, this vision is embodied by Josiane M-H, Head of Marketing and Client Relations, as well as through strategic collaborations with women-led businesses.

Vivenda: A Genuine Commitment to a More Inclusive Industry

Integrating diverse talent is not just a matter of intent—it’s a strategic and natural choice. Vivenda values skills and innovation, regardless of gender.

Our commitment translates into:

  • A woman in a leadership role.
  • Strategic partnerships with women-led businesses, whether for META advertising budget management, the sales team, process optimization consulting, or other key areas.
  • A commitment to fostering a work environment where everyone can grow based on their skills and ambitions, free from outdated prejudices.

Interview with Josiane M-H, Head of Marketing and Client Relations at Vivenda

The real estate development sector is often seen as a male-dominated field. How do you experience this reality in your day-to-day work?

💬 “It’s true that the industry still largely carries a masculine image, but in reality, things are changing fast. At Vivenda, we don’t focus on stereotypes—we focus on skills and results. My role allows me to work with professionals from all backgrounds, and what truly matters is expertise and the ability to add value. On a daily basis, I see an industry in transformation, where more and more women are taking their rightful place, naturally and without compromise.”

What impact do you hope to have on the industry through your role?

💬 “My goal is to lead by example and demonstrate that diverse talent is a strategic asset for our sector. Through my role, I work on modernizing the image of real estate and construction by promoting an approach centered on innovation and people. This involves fostering more inclusive communication, partnering with women-led businesses, and highlighting the expertise that drives the industry forward. If we can inspire other companies to adopt this vision, that would be a significant step forward.”

What challenges have you faced as a woman in a predominantly male industry, and how have you overcome them?

💬 “As in any field where female representation is still growing, you sometimes have to prove your skills more than others. But I never let that hold me back. I’ve always relied on rigor, innovation, and the added value I can bring. The real challenge is not being a woman in the industry but rather helping shift mindsets and encouraging greater diversity. At Vivenda, we’re fortunate to work in a company where this debate is no longer even relevant—what matters is results and vision.”

Why do you think gender diversity is an asset for real estate development?

💬 “Diversity—whether in gender, background, or approach—is an undeniable strength. In an industry as dynamic as real estate and construction, it’s crucial to have varied perspectives to drive innovation and better meet client needs. An industry that values only one type of profile inevitably limits its potential. At Vivenda, we believe this diversity creates a synergy that enhances performance, adaptability, and the ability to tackle challenges with more creative and inclusive solutions.”

Why Diversity is a Catalyst for Change in Real Estate Development

  • A better client approach: A diverse team enriches the experience and understanding of client needs.
  • A broader vision: Embracing different backgrounds brings more innovative solutions tailored to industry challenges.
  • A growth driver: Companies that prioritize diversity are more resilient and perform better in the long run.

At Vivenda, we don’t see this as an “initiative”—but as a natural and essential evolution of our industry.

Turning Equality into Reality, Not Just a Debate

Women don’t need to “find their place” in real estate development. They are already here, actively shaping the industry’s future.

At Vivenda, we believe it’s time to change the perception of this sector and recognize all talents—regardless of gender.
